NZ Travelogue Day 27 to 28

Blenheim

A happy reunion with his mum's cousin, Frank and his wife June, whom he met the first time in his life. They have a lovely house and a garden, just nice for retirees.

The next day, Frank drove us to Cloudy Bay where we could on a clear day see the head land of  North Island. We went through a few bays on windy roads along the Sound. And Frank showed us the path the ferry takes through the Charlotte Sound from Picton to Wellington.

It was a cloudy day. luckily not very wet.

And we were able to see the head land as the sun showed its face for a few minutes while we were there.

It was a Sunday and the locals enjoyed the water activities despite the cold weather.

 The lonely fisherman.

I love this seascape at Monkey Bay. No monkeys, luckily.

A lovely couple and we had a great day with them.

We left for Wellington on the Interislander ferry the next day, the 28th day after our arrival in Christchurch.
Goodbye, South Island.
