NZ Travelogue Day 29 to 31

Wellington is a quiet capital city.
We experienced a little traffic jam, in the city when we took a taxi from the quay to the motel around 5pm.

We walked from our motel to the civic centre, and the museum.
Start of our three days in the city on foot.

Wellington is the place for the culture and art. Sculpture everywhere.

Even the stairway is a piece of art.

I like this quote on an overhead bridge.

The Festival of Arts was on in the city. We visited a number of art galleries, including the Portrait Gallery at Queen Wharf.

This is the Te Papa Museum - huge, and has good exhibits on the Maori culture, European Culture, geography and history.

View from a window in the museum.

We went up by cable car to Victoria University and Botanic gardens. Enjoyed lunch at the Garden cafe after a long walk to the Univ's Adam Art Gallery. View from the Begonia House in the garden.

Surprised to see Henry Moore's work here in the garden.
The Inner Form.

We were back to the wharf again on our third day, Pleasant walks along the quay, watching people and taking photos.

 Spotted a red beetle!

Ending our walk in the city with a visit to the St Paul Cathedral.
